We had a meeting on Google Meet, because we couldn’t be at school. We had prepared 5 questions to ask about our topic: spare time.
1. Could you tell us something about your religion?
We didn’t get an (clear) answer on this, so we did some research and now know that there are various religions in India.
2. Does your religion affect your spare time?
Answer: It doesn’t affect our spare time.
3. You might have read our Weebly page already. Do you think Indian people or Dutch people spend their spare time better and why?
Answer: We think that most of the spare time activities between the Indian and Dutch people are common, but after reading the weebly page we found out that the Dutch people used to get pocket money and that’s a good thing and had more improvised games. They had cinemas at that time, so we can say that they had good technology. We don’t have access to activities such as karting and soccer. There were many activities to do for you all.
4. Did your parents and grandparents have as much spare time as you? Who had the most spare time and why?
Answer: Our grandparents had much time compared to that of our parents, because school was not given that much of importance than that of now so they had much spare time to spend. In the present generation school is given much importance and extra curricular activities take most of our spare time.
5. Is spare time important for you as a person?
It is important to take a break from school work. During our spare time we do the things we like.
The conclusion of this Google Meet session is that our spare time is quite the same. The differences in spare time are that people in India didn’t/don’t have as much activities as we do and they seem to have a more strict planning on school related things. The similarities are that their grandparents also had a lot of free time and that students nowadays spend way more time on school.
What went well?:
- we got a good explanation on our questions
- we gave each other time to talk
What could go better?:
- sometimes it was hard to understand what students or teachers were saying.
