Tessa: I think it was a complete new experience working on a project with students from India. I have some online friends from India, but of course we never make assignments together. Sometimes the communication didn’t work out really well, because people weren’t always very easy to understand or we didn’t have enough time to answer questions. Despite this, we still got time to talk and we got a good explanation on our questions. It was interesting to find out more about the Indian culture and the country itself. I didn’t know there are so many religions in India. Sometimes the communication in my own group didn’t go very well either. Assignments weren’t handed in on time and things like that. Still we were able to hand in a complete report..
Manouk: I think the project was totally different from the others we did. It was really special that we got to know how the kids from our age spend their free time in India. I learned a lot from this project, and I think it was really fun. We did two video conversations which went really well. The only thing that was hard sometimes was that we couldn’t hear what they where saying properly. They have another accent, and so we do. That was sometimes really hard, but over all, it was really nice to do. I think it’s really cool to know that these people and their parents and grandparent spend their free time, pocket money and other things in a very different way as we do in the Netherlands. The communication with India was sometimes a little bit hard, because you couldn’t ask your question because of the time. Even though, I think the project was really nice to do!
Matthijs: I think this project was a very unique one and like never before. In this project i enjoyed it to work together with foreign countries it gave a whole new view on the Indian culture and their country. The video conferences with India were interesting but hard to understand with the quality of some microphones not beeing the best. The Indian accent wasn't that bad to understand and its just like we got a small accent ourselves too. In this project i learned that the culture of India and the Netherlands are different in a lot of ways from their religion to their every day life. One thing I also found out is that you have boys and girls schools in India that is something we don't have here. But all together this was a cool project which I enjoyed with the only problem beeing that we were in lockdown.
Rui: I believe that this was a very special, well organized project. It was a unique experience with people from another culture. At first this was a little strange because we knew nothing about each other. But after some time we got to know the Indian culture and we could communicate a lot easier. There were some troubles with the video conferences, because intercontinental connection isn’t great. This could be easily solved by being at school, but this was not possible at the moment. Anyway, I really liked this project and I would certainly do this again.
